コンセプト

山梨、静岡両県にまたがる富士山は、世界文化遺産に登録されて以降、世界的に注目度が上がり、多くの観光客でにぎわっています。一方、登山者の殺到などオーバーツーリズム(観光公害)が課題として指摘されています。

富士山の魅力は景観や登山だけではありません。山梨県側には「豊かな森」が、静岡県側には「命の海」が広がり、ともにあらゆる生態系を守り、多くの命を育んでいます。

富士山を後世につなぐために、麓で暮らす山梨、静岡の両県民も、富士山周辺に訪れる観光客も、富士山を守る意識が不可欠です。８月１１日の山の日を機に、多くの人に多様な価値を伝え、「世界の宝を、みんなで守っていこう」という願いを込め、山梨日日新聞社、静岡新聞社が、同じ企画紙面を掲載しました。

Mount Fuji, which spans across both Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures, has gained worldwide attention and is bustling with tourists since it became a World Cultural Heritage Site. On the other hand, overtourism from an influx of hikers and sightseers has been identified as an issue.

Mount Fuji’s appeal is not merely its scenery and mountain climbing. On the Yamanashi Prefecture side extends a “Rich Forest,” and on the Shizuoka Prefecture side is a “Sea of Life,” which both protect all kinds of ecosystems and cultivate much life.

In order to pass Mount Fuji on to future generations, it is vital that citizens of both prefectures living at the foot of the mountain and tourists visiting the area are aware of the importance of protecting Mount Fuji. Taking advantage of Mountain Day on August 11th, the Yamanashi Nichinichi Shimbun and Shizuoka Shimbun published the same sentiment that conveys diverse values to many people and implores “everyone to protect the world’s treasure.”
